It's My Birthday...How Do I Top 24?

I'm 25 years old today!

Kelly Roberts

It cracks me up to think back to what elementary school Kelly thought 25 year old Kelly would be like. I believed I would be married with twins (twins? TWINS? SERIOUSLY 6 year old Kelly?), working as a veterinarian and/or President of the USA by now living next door to my bestest gal pals and living happily ever after. Married with kids...not so much. I have so much to do! I'm only 25 for crying out loud! My life is only just getting started!

But 24 was the Moby Dick of years. I have NO CLUE how I am going to top it...Let's take a look at what the past 365 days looked like...

I said see you later to California, my incredible family, and my wonderful friends and packed my bags to move to NYC!

I moved into Camp Roberts while I figured out where to turned into a 3 month sleepover and my sister Samantha and I had buckets of fun while simultaneously trying not to kill each other.

I survived my first snowfall, blizzard, and winter. (**BARELY)

I became a fancy New Yorker and had all sorts of fancy New York experiences.

I watched two of my best friends get married.

I fell in love...and then got broken up with in an email.

I celebrated my 1 year run-i-versary

I ran the NYC Half Marathon.

And a small joke turned into a international story.

And I went viral...

I was in Cosmopolitan Magazine and Women's Running Magazine.

Which led to the creation of RUN, SELFIE, REPEAT!

Stick a fork in me, I am done. I've peaked at the ripe old age of 24! KIDDING KIDDING! But seriously, what the hell do I do now...That was a hell of a year!  Here's the best part...there are bigger and more exciting announcements coming in the near future! Like this happened...

The next two months bring some HUGELY exciting announcements and after that we go straight into the NYC Marathon! I can't wait to share what I have in store for you during one of the biggest races in the world but it's gonna be INSANE!!!!

Something I decided to do after I finished my very first marathon just last year (feels like 10 years ago...) was promise myself I would do something I said I never could do or do something I never thought I would. So I compiled a goal type bucket list of things like re-learn to golf (more specifically out drive my sister), learn to speak Spanish, fall in love (CHECK), do a triathlon, read at least 1 book a month, inspire people to be the best they can be, go to a different country, and run a marathon in a different country (to name a few). I have aptly titled this little adventure: My Roaring Twenties. (Aren't I cheeky?)

I want you to do something in honor of my 25th year. I want you, in the next 3-6 months, to do something you said you never could or would do as well. Learn to cook, be vulnerable, start speaking your truth, stand up for yourself, ask for a raise, be the first to tell someone you love them, run a 5k, run a half marathon, RUN A FULL MARATHON, dance in the rain, play hookey from work and take your kids, significant other, or best friends on a day long adventure, go to a different country, ask someone out, start that blog you always wanted to start, or make a healthy lifestyle change. It can be as simple as a picnic or as grand as a proposal. Sometimes the timing is just right and sometimes you have to make the right timing. Life is a precious thing go make every single day count. Be with your friends and loved ones. Make an even greater effort. Surround yourself with people you care about and go be spontaneous. Go make memories because those are all you get when all is said and done.

Thank you all for being such a huge part of my insane 24th year. I can't wait to share what's coming this's pretty fucking huge. (Excuse my french.) But stay tuned, there's some big things coming! Until Monday, #RunSelfieRepeat.
