Badass Lady Gang Chicago Marathon Meetup Hosted By Industrious

The Badass Lady Gang is taking over Chicago Marathon Weekend thanks to Industrious!

Mark your calendars because on Saturday, October 12th, the Badass Lady Gang is coming together for the meetup to end all meetups! Whether you're apart of the BALG online, you run with one of our 40+ chapters around the world, or if you're in town and want to get to know the raddest ladies around, YOU'RE INVITED TO OUR CHICAGO MARATHON BALG MEETUP!

All are welcome regardless of whether you’re running the Chicago Marathon or if you just want to see what all the Badass Lady Gang hype is about.

First, to help you get ready to kick ass and take names, we'll be doing a guided meditation taught by yoga instructor and marathoner Amanda Kerpius (Amanda is getting ready to take on Chicago as well!). 

Post meditation, a light breakfast will be provided by the incredible team at Industrious. 

Then, we'll end with a sign-making party and meet and greet with all the ladies of the BALG. 

Check-in begins at 10:30 AM.

Meditation begins at 10:45 AM.

Meet Amanda

Amanda is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Therapeutic Yoga Specialist, Yoga Teacher, Running Coach and Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS).  Her focus is simple: heal the mind and body to perform your best. Amanda currently practices massage therapy out of Finish Line Physical Therapy in NYC providing a combination of functional performance yoga and targeted sports massage for active individuals and recovering athletes helping them to recover and train smarter. Amanda started teaching yoga in 2012.  First a trained dancer, Amanda practiced, performed, and choreographed dance for 26 years, lending her lifetime of body awareness a newfound credibility through a yoga form that is both rigorous and healing to the physical and emotional self.  Amanda is a 500+ hour trained yoga instructor with over 1,000 hours of teaching experience.  She completed her 200-hour yoga certification in 2012 and is currently completing her 850-hour Yoga Therapy Certification with Prema Yoga Institute.  She teaches over 150 adventurous students each week in NYC.  She reaches over 10,000 individuals, 24/7 across the country and around the world as one of Daily Burn’s live-stream fitness trainers and as a yoga teacher on the app Yoga Workouts by Daily Burn.  As a FAFS, she crafts intelligent, proprioceptively accurate sequences of yoga postures designed to support the biomechanics of endurance athletes in Yoga for Athletes classes and in individual therapeutic yoga sessions.  Amanda is a competitive distance and marathon runner racing over 1,000 miles in over 100 road races including over 30 half-marathons and nine marathons. She is also a certified running coach with the Road Runners Club of America. Amanda started practicing yoga in 2003 and began using it as a parallel treatment to physical therapy when recovering from running related hamstring, sciatic nerve, knee, and Achilles tendon injuries. It became an essential element of her recovery—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She hopes to help put your mind and body in the right place in preparation for the 2019 Chicago Marathon!
