Making Impossible Possible, Running My First Half marathon
I had never before run more than 8 miles, so a half marathon that went up and down two mountains seemed pretty intimidating.
But, it is a local race, and many of my friends were running it, so I decided to go fo it. A friend said that we could walk “the hills.”
Just a few weeks after deciding to go for it, I came down with the flu, which set me back about six weeks. In March, I was finally able to start training for the April race. Come race day, I was nervous, but determined.
The mountainous course was tough, but I finished it! Since then, I’ve gone on to run two more half marathons this year.
